Pant, Gasp, It's The Weekend!

Well, five days, and now we have Jax back for two days, I expect she is going to spend most of it asleep though.

Word Of The Day

histrionics: Exaggerated emotional behavior calculated for effect.

I must say, this has been quite a tough week, but I have really enjoyed it. High point was last night when Small (who was supposed to be in bed going to sleep) appeared at the head of the stairs and called for me. I was touched, I am clearly now a person.

We got down to two hours for Big to do her reading today, she managed five minutes in my office before becoming too exhausted to continue. Once again, when we got over the performance she seemed to enjoy it. In fact, she seemed to be enjoying it so much that I decided not to point out to her that she was only supposed to be doing half the book. So now she has done all the yellow Red Noses (I know).

We have had two very tired children – they are insisting on getting up when Jax does, and Small has been doing his throw himself at the floor act (must get him a Bob The Builder hat) and Big has been slightly more than usually whiney. To be fair, most of the day has been fun, and Small performed excellently for Kirstythenurserynurse this afternoon.

  1. well done all for surviving and even enjoying parts of the week 🙂

  2. I have enjoyed it a lot. We’ve had little in the way of shouting and screaming and the rest of it has been pretty darn good. I don’t know if I would adjust well to doing it long term, but it is such a worthwhile way to spend time.

  3. Nothing is long-term with children…it’s constant change. That’s part of what makes it so satisfying – and so bloody hard! LOL

  4. Think you missed IT out of your list – I just got a tikkabilla postcard 🙂

  5. He blogs, he threatens school – the guy has his HE spurs 😉

  6. Well done guys to make it through the first week. Sorry I couldn’t be here in person daily geeing you up but everyone else did a good job and I said it in my letter. I had some lovely weather in Scotland! 🙂 xxxxxxxx

  7. I’m so impressed – James is so impressed to and a little fearful I might call on him to do the same thing one day 😀

  8. Well done, Tim. Have definitely enjoyed word of the day here, too 😉
Still waiting to hear whether Jax enjoyed her week – or is the jury out on that one?

  9. Congrats all of you, on the end of the first week 🙂
