Out and about

The plan today was to go to old house and do some more sorting, then Tim got himself a phone interview, so I thought I would go with just the kids. I really didn’t want to get up this morning, felt as if I was hungover when the alarm went off. This seemed a little unfair as I had no alcohol at all last night, in fact, I think I’ve only had one small beer all weekend! Anyways, I eventually dragged myself up and dressed, and gathered up the offspring and the vacuum cleaner, the plan being to finally remove the last pieces of glass from the car while on the drive at old house.

The weather did not know the plan. It was a mite rainy and blowy, so instead of hoovering, we processed some more stuff, making a few piles into some different piles – some for charity, another bin liner full of waste and a smaller pile of packed boxes for wherever we go next but one. (I think it unlikely that many of the boxes of books will get unpacked in next house. I’m trying to come to terms with that gradually 😉 )

Couple of hours of processing was about enough for all of us, although at least Small kept himself occupied with some reading, so then we saddled up for M’hell. Been a while since we’ve been, but the kids have been absolutely desperate to get to build-a-bear workshop to get friend codes so that they can get their furry friends online in buildabearville. So we headed straight there and asked and they didn’t have any codes behind the till, but the woman said she would look in the back when she got some cover.

She didn’t do that, which annoyed me slightly, but eventually we got someone else to get some. Small was desperate to buy something and eventually settled on the cheapest bear they have, which still required him to borrow £2 from me. Big agonised even longer as she didn’t want a new friend, she wants to get her existing friend online. Then we found the sale rack, for once very low key and she ended up borrowing £2.50 so that she could buy an outfit and a top.

Bit more pottering about the shops and then we headed for home, getting back in time for Tim to supply pasta and then children and new friends to go to bed.

I’m tired again. But we’re watching Numb3rs, so it’s not too bad.
