one by one by one

we have a lot of FuzzyFelt. Small is currently proving this by putting it away one piece at a time…

it’s bath time, but it appears he isn’t ready to get wet. He still isn’t himself at all – has barely eaten today and is not-so-adorably snotty and coughing. He stayed in with Tim this aft while Big and I went shopping.

It’s been a day of mixed fortunes with Big. I’m not sure what lies behind the hormonal-style rudeness that is her every response to my every question. You know, little exhanges like “have you brushed your hair yet?” proffered in as calm and unthreatening a tone as possible, that result in “N. O.” flounce. Slam.

I *think* she’s too young for it to be actual hormones atm, but whatever it is it’s extremely wearing.

As is usual whenever this type of phase comes along, we are addressing it with more parental attention and input. Hence getting up to read with them this morning, then giving continual input into such goodies as acceptable tv watching (slightly surprised that Small put up with 1 1/4 of megamaths, but he seemed to enjoy it. He wasn’t quite as taken with Time Treasures, but Big seemed to enjoy that), and afternoon activities. So Big came out with me to look for stuff to go into our box swap, while Tim stayed home and played lego.

In and amongst all of this, I upgraded tworedboots wordpress, which means I have next to no excuse for not upgrading here now, as I have it all downloaded :?, and conducted an email conversation with thecrochetdude himself, meaning that with pointers from Drew (can I call you Drew? or do you prefer Dude? 😉 ) I think I’ve figured out where I went wrong with the purse pattern. It should be rescuable tonight, meaning I can then move on to the pile of patterns awaiting for Chrimble pressies.

Along with leaflets and boxswap pressies (postcards and a little local book, nothing fancy), Big and I also got a couple of prestretched canvases, not quite as cheaply as I’d hoped, but assuming that the fabric stash in the dining room can be pressed into service, I only need buttons, ribbon, ooh and a proper staple gun (would you believe wilco’s let me down and didn’t have any???) to do those. Hm, not quite so cheap as I’d hoped, but should look like a lot more than the pounds that go into them anyway. We got a little one too, to do a small memory board for a little girl, hope that works.

The works is doing an offer on all sorts of card making stuff atm as well, so we stocked up again on those for card making. I’ve kept out of most card swaps this year, as we’ve decided we want to send all our own home made, so I want us to have enough time to do them properly.

Right, offspring are in the bath, somewhat late, due to Big and I being delayed on our way back from town. It took 40 minutes to get out of the multi-storey carpark – I thought this meant that there was a traffic jam outside, but it turned out to be because one of the two exit barriers was broken  I can hear Tim approaching, probably to ask if I’m coming to help drag them out. As the answer is yes, I’ll be off for a bit 🙂

  1. It might well be hormones – boys get a testosterone surge around 5 and then at 7 and I could tell when Charlie surged because this attitude appreared!

  2. Maddy and Fran are indulging in full on attitude at times here too, so who knows?
Should i upgrade too or will it mess up my template?

  3. Huh, one of the main reasons I wanted to upgrade was because I wanted a particular template that would only run on WP2+ and now i can’t get the bit of it I wanted to work to work, iyswim!
But thank you so much anyway Jax, I really appreciate your time and effort on my behalf 🙂

  4. could keep your template fairly safe I think Merry, and Sarah, if you point me in the direction of your problem, I’ll see if it’s soluble tomorrow 🙂
