We are not having a good day.

It would appear that we have been altogether too exciting over the last few days, and my highly strung dd is somewhat overwrought. So far this morning we’ve had stomping, screaming (“I hate you, I hate this house”), slamming doors, throwing things at me (rather accurately – thanks for the throwing practise Tim! 😉 ) and the icing on the cake, shutting Small in the hallway when I nipped upstairs to replace the nappy buckets. I didn’t realise he was out there with the stairs…but thankfully I got to him in the nick of time.

So we are going to be having a very quiet and controlled afternoon I suspect. Which is a shame, as I was hoping that we might go out to get her hair cut. Never mind.

  1. Oh no! I hope it all improves for you, I’m trying really hard today too 😉

  2. Well, if you can call accidentally falling asleep when taking Small for his nap an improvement, it’s been an excellent afternoon! 😉 Still waiting for the piccies of the hair btw…

  3. We had quite a lot of screaming from C on Sunday after her busy day Saturday, then she had a trip to York yesterday and has been pretty silly today. One of my many reasons to HE is that we can keep a control on how much excitement C gets, because she just loses it if she’s too tired, but when I try to explain that to people they look at me very strangely. And I’m doubly glad she’s not tired out by a day at school 5 times a week!

  4. I’m with you Jan. It seems to be the common complaint of “schooling parents” that their kids are worn out and grumpy but it just seems to be accepted as.. well.. acceptable. Whereas i feel pretty happy that yes my kids get lots of impact from busy, different days but sometimes its heads down, quiet days, early nights and no stress for a bit.

  5. Must be something in the air today – we had a tough one here too – see my blog!
