More exciting news

Today is just so full of excitement!

Small has won £50 on the premium bonds! His grandfather bought them for him at Christmas and I think that means he is in profit on the deal.

Also, I am subscribed to Apex Magazine, the Aston University alumni magazine, and that popped through the letterbox at the same time. The cover photo features one of my oldest friends. I am absolutely rubbish at keeping in touch with people. I mean to write etc, but never get round to doing anything about it. Anyway, Janet had told me about her planned career change in a note at Christmas, but now she has got a two page spread in the mag. I think this might prompt me to give her a call, say hello and wish her luck with Girls On Tap.

  1. Hurrah for premium bonds! I think minimum buy is £100 though.
My parents buy D & S them every Christmas and birthday. So far only one of them has won – fifty quid, but it does mean their luck could change at any minute 🙂

  2. She covers North Reading…..so must be a class A snob in my opinion.
Come to Aston, be a plumber.

  3. But Chris, why would you think anybody is interested in your opinion all of a sudden?

  4. Oh, I’ve thought of doing that before! “North Reading” though – snort! Nah, sorry love, can’t go south of the river, not this time of night, I’m just on my way home (and other poor excuses).

  5. are you saying that even reading taxi drivers are snobs? Terribly odd place you live in! 😉

  6. Lol, no that was the curse of growing up in South London! One night I couldn’t get anyone to take me that far south, and ended up changing cabs at Camberwell Green at 2am. Yeah, cheers mate.
