Making sure I'm in the picture

image

It occurs to me that as it’s usually me holding the camera, I’m not very often in the picture.

My children could grow up without any pictures of me, I could just not be a part of their pictorial memories. I don’t want that to be the case, so I’ve decided that little as I like aiming the camera at me, I need to do it a little more often.

Hence the joint selfie above. Which took a bit of doing as *someone* (looks pointedly at Big) has taught the toddler to pull funny faces for the camera.

Ah well, at least it means I’m smiling in the shot.

Will you join in in making sure that you’re in the picture?

  1. This resonates with me as recently I was looking through photos of my children, and found there were very few of me in them. I agree that us mummies need to feature in the photos too. It’s not narcissistic – they will enjoy looking at the photos in years to come.

  2. I’m the same. I need to do this. You look lovely x

    1. Thank you. (I really don’t, but that’s OK too. )

  3. I totally relate to this. I have made it a point to ask my husband to take pics of me and my daughter when we are out doing things as often as I remember. I have also taken a few “ussies” of her and I, but those always turn out looking slightly askew (I am not a good selfie taker, let alone getting it to work with both of us. I also had my MIL take a couple of us last week while on vacation – me and her and the whole family. I usually discover our lack of family pics when it comes time for a holiday card and I can barely find one to use.

  4. So true. I keep meaning to do this. But onky 1 in like 50 pics will have me.
I really need to make an effort. And you lookk beautiful.
