Lots of reasons to #loveblogging

Today I went to a radio station and was interviewed, briefly, to be on You and Yours on Radio 4 tomorrow lunch time. That came about because a researcher found a blog post I wrote about our Mazda 6 and the great DPF fraud

In a couple of weeks we’ll be going to the Harry Potter Warner Bros tour. Because of blogging.

In November I’m on a panel at the second Mumsnet Blogfest. You’ve guessed it, because of blogging.

And we run a business from home now, websites based around wordpress, blogging software.

My life has been altered in ways I couldn’t have imagined, because of blogging. There’s a child in Niger whose life is hopefully changed, indirectly because of my blogging. I’ve made friends, had experiences, read so many books that I wouldn’t have read (oh how I love books).

I’ve shared my heart and soul on this blog. Love and loss, tragedy and triumph. It’s all here. I get to pontificate, rant, and yes review and sometimes even get paid. All of these things help me stay at home with my children, and I don’t apologise for them.

This blog has changed over the years. It would be strange if it hadn’t. But I can’t quite imagine ever falling out of love with blogging.

  1. I love your analytical posts the most. Please don’t ever think of giving blogging up.
BTW- what’s the story about the DPF?

  2. Oooh I didn’t know you were on a panel at Mumsnet – see you there! I’ve done it for years too, it’s just something I do now, and occasionally have to try hard if I really think more than two people are reading it 😉

  3. Those are a lot of reasons to love it! In the short three years that I’ve been going, blogging has changed my life as well. I have fallen out of love with it at various points but it’s always when I start focusing on the wrong things and putting too much pressure on myself. I love your blog. It always inspires me. Long may it continue!

  4. Love this. I identify completely – blogging changes your life.

  5. I absolutely agree! Blogging has changed my life for the better too. I am very much in love with blogging 🙂
