long weekend

celebrating my birthday and using up holiday all at once – I’m not back in work until Tuesday. So Friday I got up, took my car to the garage, walked back (it was cold), had a cup of tea, some chocolate croissants and then went back to bed. After getting my birthday present – pens, pictures and chocolate 🙂

I stayed in bed sleeping pretty much all day – this cold has completely wiped me out. Got up and watched some tv (I think) then back to bed to lie and cough until 6am, not good. So slept in again yesterday morning, and then got up and made Christmas presents with the offspring. Didn’t take nearly as long as I was expecting and we’ve got loads of candle wax left over, so I might see if I can find some more little glass holders and wicks.

Another evening of tv and then another late morning. Kids are currently refusing to get dressed, so looks like it’s going to be a very late lunch (new house rule, dressed before lunch time) as they are both claiming not to be hungry. I’m pondering what we should do this afternoon, though as it’s rapidly disappearing I may ponder too long.

Big got a calendar for next year with a magazine and we’ve just spent some time going through the special days on it. She already knows about Christmas, unlike the majority of the population it would seem and now she knows lots about the meaning of the names of days leading up to Easter. She already knew about the concept of fasting from recent study of ramadan, and now we’ve covered shrove tuesday and all.

Now they are playing on a computer somewhere and I’m trying to work out whether I’m hungry. I’m already dressed 😉

  1. Gu do hot chocolate desserts in glass ramekins that are perfect candle holders. They are rather yummy and calorific – but hey, if you need the holders what else is a girl to do?

  2. Hope you had a good birthday Jax.

  3. hope you enjoy the rest of your long weekend!

  4. Hmm just realised I’d posted earlier under Marcus’ login. What was he doing commenting somewhere?

  5. wasn’t the first time Michelle, guess he likes to get out and about 😉

  6. Never understood the concept of trying to work out if your hungry – my body seems pretty good at telling me :-0
