KeepsakeCritters #review

I am a hoarder. You’ve all read my tales of woe about decluttering and how hard I find it. I am sentimental and hate to let things go. So I was utterly thrilled to be offered the chance to review a Keepsake Critter as made by Ruth at Keepsake Critters

old clothesI found my part of the process surprisingly hard. How could I choose just a couple of items of clothing from the heaps and stacks I still have? In the end I chose a sleepsuit that all three children have worn and a pair of leggings that both the girls have worn, that were really getting too small for Smallest, and even had a small hole in one seam. Much loved, basically, for both items.

When you put an order in for a Keepsake Critter, Ruth sends you a form to send in with your fabric. You have a variety of options from choosing which animal you want, through to specifying which is the main fabric, and a number of details on accessories. It’s a very pain free process, and Ruth is very responsive via email or twitter. The only nerve wracking bit is sending your fabric off out into the ether via Royal Mail – if you’re *very* sentimental, you might want to do it signed for 😉

Waiting for my Keepsake Critter was hard. But it didn’t take long, and sneaky twitpics helped 😉

And then he came home.

Yes, I took a picture of the package…

The arrival

and then of the internal wrapping!

Quick, because then this happened!

seal of approval

As I think you can see, he’s a great hit. I thought he was supposed to be *my* Keepsake Critter, but apparently he’s a family member, and Smallest can often be found sneaking off into corners with him. I don’t know whether she recognises the material at all – she did look particularly lovely in the outfit before it was repurposed. But this way I get to keep the memories of her and her sister in the outfit, and cuddle them for oh so much longer.

So, if like me, you’ve memories invested in baby clothes that you would like to keep safe but in a really new format, I highly recommend Keepsake Critters.

Go on, take a look.

Disclosure – my Keepsake Critter Ras was made free for the purpose of review.
