Just us now

Katy and B long gone home.

Had a lovely time with them yesterday – we went to puddlers where we’d had some idea of doing a victory party as it was the 60th anniversary of VJ day. It didn’t really come off – various ppl had brought stuff, Sarah had bread, jam, cheese?, Stella had brought syrup cake, Kirsty brought drinks and stories, Kris had more books, and Stella’s friend brought 1940’s music. I brought Katy, complete with nurse’s uniform.

Despite all this wonderful effort, the kids made themselves jam sandwiches and scoffed them, were making too much noise to hear the story and completely disregarded the music. Ah well. We tried. I think they all enjoyed themselves anyway 🙂

Had another new face at group as well, R that arranged the ergo coop ages ago via ukp had met Kris via freecycle and as she’s interested in home ed, came along with her three, including baby A, all of 5 weeks old. All together now…awwww…..

And then Katy and I came back here for tea. Did the kids pasta and sauce, and then settled down to several hours of trying to persuade them to sleep. Yeah right. 😉 Didn’t stop us cracking a bottle of wine and Tim serving up fab fried food 😆

Was a really lovely evening, barely dented by my knowledge that I had to get up for a job interview this morning. Which I did, and I went, and I saw and I came back….and I’ll let you know tomorrow, as I don’t know yet.

Leisurely lunch with friends, as Sarah had come to rejoin the throng while I was out, and then eventually everyone left, leaving me with tired little ppl. Damage limitation meant it was a reasonable evening, Small was very tired and clingy which is very unlike him.

But it was worth it!

  1. It was lovely to sit about chatting with Katy, and lovely to see you too (as always). Glad the damage was limited – mine weren’t too bad either. I have no idea who brought Cheese but it wasn’t me.

  2. sounds lovely anyway.
