  1. Ah, The Blue Screen of Death.
    Very familiar around here.

  2. And this is the reason I’ve never upgraded from WIN98 (NOT ME) – the last really stable windows platform.
    Okay, well, that’s not entirely true – there are less ancient computers in the house – but this is the one I prefer – it’s been going strong for a decade with no blue screen of death.

  3. There are alternatives to Microsoft (read Linux, OpenOffice,…) — you may want to consider them if it’s getting too frustrating the way it is now.

  4. .. and now that Dell are shipping hardware with Ubuntu Linux pre-installed, that’s an even more realistic option. It can run Windows under VMware .. so you can get the best of both worlds.
