I've been a bit quiet here

as things are rather hectic.

As most of you know, I’m in the swing of trying out for jobs. I’ve been putting 2 – 3 applications in a week (sometimes 2 – 3 in a day!) and it’s beginning to pay off. Accordingly I’ve been to Leeds for aptitude tests today, and I’m off for a proper interview tomorrow. Spent some of this evening dreaming over houses nearer the job… 😉

In and amongst I’ve been doing a lot of work on websites, and pondering my future on the web as it were – if I don’t get the paying job, I need to find some other ways of making ends meet.

And there’s been a touch of education here and there. Big is now in full flow with awkward questions at the most inconvenient times 😉 I know other ppl swear by car ed, but I’m more likely to swear at it, as being half deaf makes holding in depth conversations while driving exceedingly difficult. Today’s conversations started with sea monkeys, drifted through fish, via dolphins to mammals, eggs and being a mummy. Sigh. Lots of her conversations end up with her being a mummy, it appears to be the only thing she can see herself as being.

Oh well, isn’t all bad 🙂

We’ve done a couple more reading lessons, and I found some other activities to practise the sounds she was finding most difficult. Must try to fit in toe by toe tomorrow though, as I think the little and often is important.

Headed out to ballet tonight, but for some reason it was all locked up 🙁 So we went shopping instead. I was supposed to be buying clothes for tomorrow’s interview, but I couldn’t really bring myself to buy another suit that may or may not fit in a weeks time. (For anyone out there trying to lose weight, I can highly recommend job hunting and interviews – the weight just drops off!) So instead we got one of these (although having seen the price on that one, I think we’ll take this back, get a refund and go to Toys’r’us!) and a set of Mega Blocks builder vehicles – Small is very happy with those. Hey, it’s all educational 😉

Good luck for tomorrow. ELinor also wants to be a Mummy, but does understand that Mummies do other things too. At the Mo, she is wondering whether she will have the next baby or me [shudder!!!]
    Lovely houses up here.

  2. Good luck, Jax.

  3. Well, good luck with it anyway.

  4. I love car ed, I like the way it jumps around from one thing to another :o) It’s much harder now we have a longer car though, India is virtually in the boot and I have to shout to be heard properly!
As for being a mummy, this is what Trin wants to be. She was telling Pagyn that she’d have to find a boy first, but Pagyn told her that she didn’t need a boy to keep, that she just needed to get his ‘tadpoles’ and then she could get rid of him!!

  5. Hmm, but your bad ear is that side, isn’t it, so I can understand why it would be extremely frustrating. You’ll have to get a left hand drive car!
    All the best for today.

  6. I guess you can take heart from the fact she even sees being a mummy as being a job – and one she would aspire to at that 🙂 I would probably be a bit wobbly if that was ‘all’ S wanted to be too though – aside from anything else it is rarely a ‘career for life’ and it would be nice to think she had addtional ambitions. I know I still do 😉
Hope it goes well today – and glad the persistance in applying for endless jobs is now paying off. I know you are still not sure it is what you want but at least you are in a stronger posistion to think about what you do wnat once you are getting some money in the pot. Very similar things afoot here, although hopefully still not involving going ‘out’ to work.

  7. Well done on yesterday’s tests, will be thinking of you today.
I would just be stuffing myself whilst worrying about jobs! So I’d be growing out of my suits 😉

  8. Good luck today – sorry i disappeared last night, i fell asleep.

  9. Thinking of you today – hope you feel good about it whatever happens.

  10. Hope it all goes well

  11. Hope all works out well for you today best of luck.
Our Pearl doesn’t want any kids and never has – not sure what that says about us! Leo, on the other hand, want lots of babies which he is going to adopt. Could be necessary if he sticks to his plan of life partner who is a ‘black man Power Ranger…’

  12. hope it went well … 🙂

  14. All ears here! ( well eyes really….)
