It's snowing

on teletubbies 😉

Dick and Dom appear convinced it’s Christmas, what’s that about? Horrid program. One child getting dressed, one parent getting clean, another blogging.

I’m not prepared but none of you are surprised by that. Next year is going to be different in lots of ways. I like Merry’s tag, I’ll do that after Christmas. Small promises that I can and will keep.

The main one is to be happier. I listened to myself last night and realised I sound like a caricature of my worst parental memories from my childhood. Are we really doomed to repeat the past? I think not. Not if we can recognise what we are doing.

Right, washing, washing up, packing, children.

Have a great holiday everyone, hope you all enjoy whatever it is you are celebrating.

Blogging may be patchy over the next few days 😉

  1. Have a good one. I know that feeling but i do believe we can do something about it. i have to try quite hard though!

  2. Tim, you are not on your own with the turning-into-parents thing. I found myself in the same position when in the depths of manic depression. I put a stop to it – I couldn’t think of anything more harmful to small person than becoming my dad.
Oh dear, that was a bit serious for Xmas eve 😉
I wish all of you a very merry festive season 🙂

  3. Claire, This post was put up by Jax, masquerading as me. To get my own back, I am posting this comment masquerading as her, and will be wearing her underwear throughout the holiday period.

  4. rofl. We need photographic evidence of this 😀

  5. Tim, don’t say stuff like that. I have this photographic imagination – graphic being the operative word…
Am seriously considering doing the Flylady Xmas prep next year – starting Nov 1st, you have to be finished by Noc 30th. Kind of like Nano, but with sticky tape. Oh bugger – will probably be doing Nano at the same time.

Have a lovely Christmas whoever you are 🙂

  7. Hope you had a good Christmas. Good luck with being happier! It is important and I think if you’re recognizing the problems and thinking about it, you will get there. You won’t repeat the past because you’re already thinking about how not to.
And as for preparations, if you’re anything like us, there just is not usually an extra bean in the pot to pay for it in November. Come December, we scramble with whatever we have.
    All the best for 2006!
