I'm absorbing happy.

I don’t know whether it’s possible to soak enough warmth and sunshine into your bones to make it through an English winter but I’m trying. Today I made a real effort to get outside with the smalls before it got really hot and we had to retreat. I kept them in the shade as much as possible, although my right shoulder implies I didn’t do as well with myself :/

It was a lovely couple of hours. The very sad bouncy castle was reinflated again and then I supplied them with a bucket of water so they could clean it. First this happened.

Then this.

I think you can tell he’s having fun.

He had a lovely time for most of the day though he did get a bit hot and bothered around nap time. Should have seen if I could set him up in a buggy in the shade but I wanted to work on the netbook which is difficult to do outside.

Oh, forgot I started the day with a run. I always manage the day better if I start with exercise. I don’t know why I can’t remember that when I get up.

Dealt with some emails, did some tweeting, set up a blog competition (coming very soon), set up another blog partnership that should be good for me, you and the brand and got around to writing one of the many off blog posts I need to do.

Never as productive as I want to be, but better than I have been doing.

More maths with Smallest, I’ve started her on mathseeds. I desperately want to get Montessori manipulatives but at the moment we’ve neither space not spare funds. I’m aware that she needs them sooner than later though.

Tonight’s evening meal was pleasant too. Preparing it while chatting with Big was fun.  And we rounded off the evening with yet another reading of Monster Zoo. She adores it.

How much happy do I need? I don’t know, but today was a good start.

      Very possibly 🙂

  2. looks like a lovely day 😀
Have you thought of buying a big bag of plastic faceted beads to make a cheap but still effective version of the golden bead materials? Not as lovely as all that smooth cool glass but shows the relationships well enough.

  3. Lovely. Were trying to make the most of the sunshine to but its just so hard when it gets so hot. Great photos x

  4. Summer – what a difference it makes when it’s warm and dry outside. Shame that this global warming malarky is going to take a few hundred years to come into effect.

  5. Sounds very productive to me!

  6. I’m glad you shared this with #mntbc as I’d meant to comment here and just forgotten. I love those images-so much fun to be had with water in this weather.
