I thought this was supposed to make me feel better?

Today I went to see an osteopath. I’ve been having recurrent bouts of pins and needles down both legs – disturbing sensation when it becomes regular.

Interesting experience. Getting contorted into a knot and having someone bounce on you until bits of your anatomy crack *is* interesting. What I wasn’t expecting was to come home and feel really ill – I took twitter advice and drank lots of water and then eventually gave up and went to bed for a couple of hours. Not quite as restful as it sounds as Smallest came and joined me after a while – we did milk and then went to sleep together for a bit longer.

So today has been a wipe out so far as #30dayplan progress is concerned. By the time I got up it was swimming time, then shopping time, then cooking time and finally bed time. Quick round of twenty questions after tea (I beat them all with Animal, one word which turned out to be Cheese 😉 ) and eventually most children are heading in a bedward direction. Except Smallest, who needs to be changed. So am off to do that, and then to take my bruised and battered self to bed.

  1. I’ve never understood therapy that makes you feel worse…. maybe I’m just too much of a wuss? I do know osteopathy can have stunning results though so fingers crossed the pain is shortlived and there is an improvement in the end

  2. Hi Jax
I’ve had several friends have osteopathy and yes it does seem to make you feel worse. I think the rationale is that because your body has been compensating with stresses, tensions etc for poor alignment, that when you get cracked back into correct alignment that your body complains and that it feels all wrong even though it might be all right.
If you see what I mean.
I hope you feel better soon and that the long term effects are worthwhile.

    1. Hi Ruth
That makes quite a lot of sense. I feel better today than I did yesterday, but definitely not fixed yet. I can hope, can’t I?
