And this is the post I was trying to write last night to prove it. Hope I can remember everything that we did yesterday!
I know that Big did this:
really impressed at how well she concentrated on it – especially as she didn’t start it til bath time! She thought hard about the colours and was very neat with the colouring, all the more impressive as I can’t really remember her doing anything similar before. I think the results were wonderful.
And of course Small has to join in 😉
The little table is just the right height for him to sit on the floor, and I was surprised to discover that he has pretty much coloured in the same area as the printed pictures. I thought the results were very impressive for a child who is not quite 18 months yet.
So that was the end of the day. Can I remember the rest of it? I know we’d had another bad night – Small seems to have a bad cold and be teething at the same time, so despite the fact that I haven’t let him nap in the day, he isn’t sleeping well at night. 🙁
I know that Big watched Monkey Business on the tv, I know that I finally remembered to watch A Different Life, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Tim and I did a bit of DIY – cutting down the boards that go under out new mattress. Small was very taken with the workbench.
Had planned to go for a walk, but did the DIY instead – and they did have a bit of a run around the garden as well. Oh yes, I got washing done, and asked Big to put her own clothes away, was pleasantly surprised to discover that she folded them all and put them away neatly. She can do that again then!
Only disappointment of the day was that we tried to watch Horsetails, that we’d seen advertised several times during the day, and the series hasn’t started yet. That was why we ended up doing the Flanders book – she was being so good about the disappointment that I wanted to do something for her. And Katy so kindly put a link on her blog just for me as well 😉 We had talked loads about remembrance and poppies during the week, so it rounded it off nicely really.
So that was yesterday.

The random location of your images never fails to raise a smile.
It’s not the images that are randomly placed, they are quite carefully placed, it’s the text that gives me issues…
It is fun guessing which column to read next 😉 I’m impressed with Big’s work – beautiful colouring 🙂
She looks so sweet when she’s concentrating …
oh the little columns ahve gone 🙁
A good day 🙂
Love the pics and I am very impressed by both of their colouring skills.
Wow Jax! You’re kids are beautiful. I’ve only just caught up on your last few posts (didn’t get much computer time recently) – so I hope you’re feeling a bit more positive about everything. Certainly looks like you’re doing fab on the educational front!

Ooh I do love posts with pics in. Even though I know what your kids look like 😉
Lovely day, and lovely pics 🙂
Tallulah came up whilst I was looking at your blog this morning – she saw the photos of the children with Tim and watching tv and exclaimed “Like this, mama, like this!” and we sat and talked about Big and Small for a while.
This evening, she saw the new photos, and immediately pointed out Small and Big (by RL names, not blog names, lol), and then spent ages repeating “hello Small!” … but for some reason he didn’t answer ….
ROFL – Small loves to look at piccies on ppls blogs – he was ever so sorry for himself this evening and I spent ages looking at piccies with him. We get lots of pointing and questioning noises – can’t wait for him to speak so that I can answer the questions…
I usually read some blogs while I’m waiting for C to get ready for bed, and M comes in and sits on my lap, and demands pictures of people. For a while it was Lijah and Lulah, then it was Small for quite a long time, but she’s stopped asking now because there were no pictures for such a long time! She likes seeing Ammi “there’s my friend Ammi!” in Merry’s sidebar
Ah yes, Lulah has added a very good “Josie” to her puddle litany …. 🙂
Yesterday one of the girls called her “cute” – to which she indignantly replied “me cute? NO!” then turned round and looked at the pc and said “*Ammi* cute”, lol.
Really looking forward to Melrose next year, it will be really good to see all the toddlers meeting up again 🙂
