spent the day with the children, even though it’s the weekend, and that’s the overall plan. Instead I’ve worked, and they’ve played, and watched tv. I know Big found her knitting and looming because I did spend some time reminding her how to do it. Small appears to be at the age where he tries to do things he can’t and ends up injured, I’ve mopped tears and there, there’d quite a bit too.

Then I went to M’hell, on my own, to do some errands. Went to storage to drop off three more boxes of books, and discovered that since the last time I went, someone has moved the container, and all my boxes of books have fallen over, and two of them have split. I am not impressed. I’m not nearly as unimpressed as the guy with the room next to mine – the reason that they’ve moved the container was to put extra feet under it, and the reason they did was that the whole lot flooded. Counting on my fingers I think it flooded in between me paying for it and putting the first load in, but I didn’t notice the tide marks when I started filling it up. I shall be looking for alternative storage – I don’t think it’s going to flood again any time particularly soon, but I’m not sure I fancy trusting my belongings to a company that will pick them up and drop them without letting me know.

Other than that, didn’t manage to exchange things at Primark (I think even cheap clothes ought to survive more than two days wear) as there was a massive queue, presumably of ppl feeling the same way. Did consider getting on to the bbc to see if they could create a rush on primark clothes, but I think they are still focussed on some unfortunate bank. :/ Did manage to pay in the grant funding cheque, should get one more of those and then Small is school age and funding dries up. 🙄 How did that happen????

Indulged myself in some planet saving skincare at Lush, then came home to eat chips, fried eggs and drink beer. And now my glass is empty, so I’d better go downstairs and refill it.

  1. The once or twice I’ve needed to take stuff back to Primark for whatever reason I’ve always been scared off by the queue – in both Manchester and Brighton branches. Wonder if you might have a point about the reason for it…

  2. Ahhh, I always felt a bit dubious about those containers in a yard type storage places. The place we used in Leeds was previously some sort of industrial/warehouse place, and was fitted out inside with proper storage units, clean, dry, well lit, alarms on the units.

  3. Odd, I’ve had a lot of second hand Primark stuff for Aprilia, it’s survived the child it was bought for and then the real miracle, it’s survived Aprilia too. Or maybe the really bad stuff doesn’t survive the first child so I never get to see the real tat?

  4. We’ve had plenty of Primark stuff worn by 2 or 3 children. And I’ve never had any problem taking stuff back either – but then I don’t tend to do it on a Saturday 😉

  5. Hi Jax, apologies in advance … can’t seem to work out how to get hold of you any other way 🙂 … I’ve messed around with my site url to regain privacy on my blog (from family members!) … and couldn’t work out how to notify you on the MPwebring hub. So I’ve just rejoined, with an explanation … which I’m pretty sure you will notice! Maybe you can just edit my original membership?
Grovelling thanks! (see my new link above for your info … I’ve only added a ‘1’ to it, but it means I know I’m back to basics on who has access.)
    cheers
