I appear to have misplaced Monday

ah yes, I remember, I did some maths. Was panicking about the fact that my week’s extension was nearly up and I had two whole question that I hadn’t even started, plus, I hadn’t tangled with the computer for any of the parts that require mathcad and then the phone rang.

It was, very unexpectedly, my new tutor. I think she just rang to touch base, and I was really impressed that she did so. My previous tutor mainly responded to emails, but not always, and that was it for contact, so to have one that initiated a very helpful contact, at a moment when I was feeling close to chucking the whole lot out of the window was fortuitous to say the least. She gave me an extra week, and talked to me about attending tutorials, and also said that I should consider a home exam – the exam will be within a month of due date, so probably a good move.

I felt a lot happier after the conversation and managed another question last night, so I’ve only one more to do and then the mathcad to attack.

Children have been mainly self amusing over the past couple of days. Yesterday they worked out a school timetable based on Hogwarts lessons, but were about to fall out over whether to be inside or out when I pointed out that herbology and care of magical creatures goes on outside so Small was happy as he got to go out, and Big was happy as they were still following the timetable. Diplomacy around here is a full time job 😉

Today I was feeling particularly terrible and the children were particularly fractious. Then later on they joined me while I was watching Unexpected Journey and I got to spend the whole film explaining autism and assorted issues, which rather dented my viewing enjoyment. Ah well, I daresay we can chalk it up to something useful.

After the film and some more arguing playing, they got stuck into the games cupboard and had a couple of games of Monopoly Junior before getting into dominoes. Tim joined them for a game while I was sorting out their tea and then it was finally a very welcome bedtime.

I do think that part of the problem is that I’m not very present atm, so I’m trying to be involved where I can, but it’s very difficult. Still, this too will pass, and the improving weather is helping.

This evening we’ve very much enjoyed All the Small things, not on the face of it the type of thing I enjoy, but very well put together and quite gentle. Also caught a very early episode of Numb3rs which amused me highly. You’ve got to take your pleasures where you can after all 🙂
