Just before Christmas we were contacted by the company behind Heroes of the City children’s TV series, and sent a bundle of goodies to look at as well as being given a code to review the Heroes of the City app.
Turned out that this was really popular with the small people – so that was a good thing. Personally I thought it was a bit fiddly, but I’m obviously not the target market 😉 (Anyone else worried that their children are better with tablets than they are? Just me?) There are a variety of vehicle based games, such as obstacle races and so on. Again, rather more suited to the children than me! (I need to brush up on my app reviewing skills don’t I? But possibly not tonight, given it’s late and I’m tired.)
Anyway, you can find the app on the appstore or google playstore if you want to explore it further.
And if you’d like to have your own books and toys tie in kit, you’re in luck, as I’ve one to giveaway. This prize will be sent direct by the company concerned, so only enter if you are willing to have me pass your details along.
It will look something like this:
(I can’t guarantee that it will be exactly those vehicles and so on. We got a fire engine and a tractor.)
There’s a review of the book over on my book blog, Shingle Street if you want to know more about it.
To enter the competition, leave me a comment, telling me your favourite fictional vehicle. (I think mine is probably Herbie.)
Extra completly optional entries (but you must leave a separate comment for each one you do for it to count!)
- Tweet “I’ve entered to win a copy of the Heroes of the City prize pack with @liveotherwise and you can too: https://liveotherwise.co.uk/2014/01/23/heroes-of-the-city-review-and-giveaway/”

- Like my facebook page
- share this post some other way 🙂
Remember, separate comment per entry or it doesn’t count!
Competition closes 29th January at midnight, and I will notify the winner as soon as possible afterwards.
(Also, be aware that first time commenters are moderated to cut down on spam. I regularly check and release real comments, if yours doesn’t appear, feel free to use my contact form to get in touch.)
