Hearing is fine

Apparently.

Although I do wonder about the values of distraction tests, knowing that I passed them all, and my hearing most definitely is *not* fine.

However, Small did also demonstrate his other skills – he did the test they usually aim at 2 1/2 year olds. Have to say though, that I can’t think of any toddlers I know who couldn’t have done the test he did today at a similar age. Basically it required making little toy men “listen” to a speaker thingy and then jump into a boat, so I’m guessing that’s a sort of processing skill as well as dexterity?

Hohum. We’re home and he’s playing with junior meccano now. While we’ve been out, Big watched a variety of schools programmes with Tim, and has apparently learnt lots about negative numbers, fractions and decimals. So that’ll be good then.

  1. Do you mean your hearing most definitely is not fine?! Glad the rest of it went well though – hope your afternoon is good, too 🙂

  2. Oh yes, we’ve learned about negative numbers too – i had a really good example “if i have 5 flower boards, and my website sells 8, then i have minus 3 and unless my delivery arrives i have to go toys r us for emergency supplies” ;~) :~D

  3. I did, thanks Sarah 😉

  4. please note the wink jax btw, otherwise it sounds grumpy, on reflection, which it wasn’t meant to!!

  5. I noticed the wink 🙂

  6. yeah we had that on too – not at all sure whether negative and minus numbers went in as D called me to say ‘it’s changed to grown up telly now Mummy look – it’s the weather’ when they were demonstating by saying it’s 5 degrees now and it will be minus 5 degrees later…
