Whenever I send a child to their room atm (happens a couple of times a day for Big, couple of times a week for Small) they snatch up a book/ workbook whatever, and stamp off in a huff, and forget to come back down when the five minutes is up 🙂 So tonight they were both sent up for fighting over the computer, she took HP and he took Goldstars maths 😆

The day started (belatedly at least for me) with maths. Big was sitting in the kitchen going through improper fractions with occasional input from Tim while he washed up (which all seemed to work much more harmoniously than when I’m involved, perhaps he should be lead educator with that one!) Small and I worked through a couple more pages of his goldstar book, which is mainly on addition and subtraction up to 12, but we worked in some algebra as well, and he seemed to grasp it pretty quickly. So that was good.

They did some putering, although teh interwebs was incredibly slow, and not a lot else. She read for a couple of hours (just as well we’ve already got the next HP, I can see her needing it sometime over the weekend) and they did watch some TV. We all watched Newsround, which is even more painfully dumbed down that News 24 (which has me spitting. How come they can show News round the clock and talk about next to nothing continuously? How about using some of that time every hour to talk about things that affect individuals as well as blurting on about David Beckham and how it’s going to affect his family to have to move to Italy. Again.)

They’ve had tea, and now they’re getting cleaned. I have shampooed yet another bit of carpet courtesy of the cat, and worked my way through a pile of paperwork, producing a smaller pile of filing, a bin bag of rubbish (mainly window envelopes) and some recycling. I think I have about a third of what I started with, so that’s progress.

And the diclofenax doesn’t work. But we have a Life.

  1. Dicolfenac are accumulative IIRC from when I had them, you need to keep taking them, after a couple of days you should feel it and keep taking them to keep the effect, they aren’t like paracetamol you just take when you hurt. They upset my stomach and a friends husband was just given them for his shoulder and they made him sick so be careful. I can recommend Nurofen plus, (the ones with codeine), they are about the only thing that has ever worked for me.

Have you considered trying a tens machine? I seem to remember my grandad using one for his wrists. Would Pilates or similar be at all helpful?
