Getting Stuff Done.

Feels like it should have a trademark 😉

I’ve achieved things today. Not quite as much as I want to do, but then, it never is. But I’ve done lots. We’ve got photos, for passports and Kentwell applications. I’ve printed out the applications, and I’ve to fill them out tonight.

I went shopping so that I could feed the cat, do washing, and have lunch. Then I did houseworky things – washing up, washing, feeding children, the usual stuff. I find it wearing that it’s never done, that no sooner have I finished one load of washing up than it starts piling up on the side again, that before all the washing is dry, the washing basket is half full again. I try to be cheerful and get on with it, but let’s be honest, it’s mind numbing.

But I did it.

We’ve done making things – can’t share the details, as there’s a party tomorrow that involves them 😉 And I’ve planned for a quick sidetrip to London, to a blogging conference. Well, why not?

Big took my breath away when I mentioned the conference. She assumed that I meant *instead* of the party we’ve planned to attend for weeks. That I would call off her attendance a day ahead of time, so that I could go out for the day. And what’s more, she thought that was only fair, as apparently I never get to do anything except run around after them. She is wonderful – and also slightly relieved when I explained the plan to do everything 😉

And I can’t really work out where the rest of the day has gone. I haven’t spent much time sat in this chair at all, only when feeding the baby. Tweets have been from my phone in and amongst other things – a quick stop off at the library to renew Smallest’s books, after picking up party food at lidl while waiting for Big to get changed after swimming. But no, I don’t know where the day has gone.

But it’s not over yet, and I need to finish up a pile of things and get organised for tomorrow. I’m a bit excited 😉

  1. Enjoy the party and the conference too! Mich x

  2. Hi Jax,
Re. washing – I’ve felt much happier about washing since we switched to three laundry baskets – one for each child and one for us. It doesn’t heap and spill all over the place. Also, elder child now does all her own washing and younger does with a bit of reminding and help with carrying. After all those years of endless nappy loads and constant laundry activity it has faded to nothing more than a minor job.
It’s tough in the baby years, I know, but it will get easier – especially if you off-load some of it onto the children 😉
    Hope you enjoy tomorrow.

  3. Enjoy your party and your conference.
My washing woes have calmed slightly, not because I gave away one of the children (I still have all four) but because hubby bought me a new washing machine which takes – hold your breath – 11kg of washing at one time!!!
It’s amazing, like a washing monster.
Big sounds like a great kid. Great when they really SEE you and what you do, isn’t it?
