Lunch and chat and felting with Kentwell friend Frances of the hats.

First time I’ve enjoyed food in several weeks. Home made soup and dough balls stuffed with goats cheese and redcurrant jelly. Oh, and home made ginger biscuits too. And we got to sit and chat while the children played or watched Ice Age 3 – Smallest pottered in and out and as there was a safe enclosed garden I didn’t need to worry about her outside either.

And the highlight of the day from Big’s point of view – she finally got to make felt. I can’t believe I sat there with cameraphone in hand, and took no photos! Sob. In my defence by that point I was feeling very wiped out.

Thankfully, Frances took pictures, and had shared them on her blog here. Big really really enjoyed it, talking about it all the way home, and is desperate for supplies to try out some of the things Frances suggested. I foresee fleece buying in my very near future, and a new creative hobby in hers 😀

  1. Definitely need more information about felt-making. To me, felt is those brightly coloured squares we used to make pin-cushions at school. I suspect you are talking about something more authentic. Looking forward to more (with pictures 🙂 ) from Big. And I’m glad you are feeling better.
