Finally using my Christmas present.

I’ve had some fab Christmas presents in the last few years. There was the digital piano (back in the days of 2 salaries and one child). My netbook, still in use most days. My digital camera. Much loved, though not used nearly as much as I should.

Then, there was this:

It’s a strawberry planter. Or possibly a herb tower. Given it came with packets of herbs I think it’s going to be a herb tower. As it was a glorious day today, we headed outside this afternoon, and I started planting it up.

So far I’ve planted chives, sorrel and sage. I quite like the idea of growing my own herbs actually, as I’m getting more into cooking from scratch I’m actually using herbs these days and it will be nice to have my own.

Still want strawberries too mind.

And now for some gratuitous pictures of gorgeousness.

  4. wow that is very cool. Can’t wait to see the pictures with all the herbs growing out of it!

  5. what a lovely post xx

  6. fab pictures. fingers crossed for a good crop of herbs I always cheat and buy small plants from the supermarket as I’m hopeless at remembering to water seedlings!

  7. I love that herb tower! But can understand why strawberries sprouting all over it would be rather cool. The tower seems a great size for people with only balcony space – but still too big for mine! I’m hoping to make some hanging herb pots from formula milk cans 😀
