Drinking milk.

With 4 kids in the house, we get through a lot of milk. On cereal, as an ingredient, as hot chocolate, in rice pudding. Mmmmm. Rice pudding.

And it gets drunk.

A little while ago, probably round about the time I gave up tea again, I switched us back to full fat, as any method of getting extra calories into Smallest is to be preferred. The amount being drunk went up at the same time, and generally, I buy from Lidl at under £1 for 4 pints. It’s all pretty much of a muchness anyway, isn’t it?

Apparently not.

We were invited by Britmums to take part in a Cravendale #MilkDrinkersMilk challenge, and sent some vouchers so that we could buy Cravendale. This may have doubled my milk budget in future, as the kids told me it really *is* very different. I thought I’d better give it a try myself.

So, supper. Milk and a cookie. Peace and quiet, all the children in bed, I even gave the cat biscuits so he’d clear off outside.

Do you know what?

It really is quite good. I’d go as far as saying very good in fact. I didn’t expect there to be any difference at all (thought the kids had just been conned by the new bottle to be honest) but there really is. I’m not sure I’m going to be hanging up my coffee cup and switching full time to milk any time particularly soon, but I can see why the kids preferred it.

Of course, the acid test will be what it’s like in rice pudding 😉

How do you drink your milk? And who else is now thinking of that John Wayne quote? Come on, ‘fess up!
