Done stuff

tonight I’m tired, but for the first time in several weeks, I feel like I’ve earned it. I took the kids to school this morning, then came home for a cup of tea and breakfast. After I’d done that, I got washing in, put washing out and more washing on. Time for another sit down (just to prove that I’m taking it easy 😉 ) After lunch, Kirsty came round, and we set to work on our own room of doom, referred to on the house plans as a dining room I believe.

We’ve processed books, lots of books, and I did lots of it sitting down 🙂 There are four boxes ready for storage, 2 for the local dump, and Kirsty kindly removed a small one as well. It’s made a drastic change in the dining room, and when I take the stuff to storage, I’ll really feel like I’ve got going.

Then I had another sit down. Well, OK, we had a sit down. Kirsty and I have known each four years, and we think that’s the second time we’ve spent an afternoon together without children – we made it to coldspring mills about 2 years ago, it’s when I bought the blue wool cotton 😉 . We were there when I was offered the job I’ve got, that’s how long ago it was.

Eventually Kirsty had to go, and I rested some more while playing Set. Then Tim arrived back with the children, and it was full on negotiation time, trying to persuade Small that he wanted to go to bed, and reach some sort of compromise between them on what they were going to listen to. Successful eventually, and they are now upstairs, though I very much doubt they are asleep.

And we’ve got tv to watch this evening, and Tim’s doing the run in the morning – I might take the stuff to storage 🙂

  1. wow to sorting out Room of Doom. Its nice to spend time with “home ed parents” sometimes rather than “home ed families” isn’t it?

  2. maybe you should visit our room of doom??? sounds very productive. i’m not sure really what your dining room looks like, though I am aware its there somewhere!!

  3. I have been practicing walking across it instead of kind of weaving through it. 🙂
