Doesn't the world look different

from the other side of 7 hours sleep?

Horrendous evening trying to get Small to bed last night, resulted in me in tears downstairs after 45 minutes of trying to settle him, while Tim did finally succeed. Really couldn’t face another night of the wriggling, writhing, hair pulling and scratching, so went and slept on the fold out bed in Big’s room – bliss!

Big didn’t get up til gone 8 – Small didn’t surface til my alarm went off at 9. Tim brought me tea – this classes as a very good morning. I fully understand that some ppl enjoy co-sleeping, I’ve come to the conclusion I don’t, and as soon as I figure out a practical way to do it, Small is being evicted. 😉

Anyway, back to the day. Wandered around tidying this morning while Big did colouring and Small ate felt tips (why does he *do* that?) as we were due a (first) visit from Kris and tribe They arrived shortly after lunch, and D and Big got along famously, most of the time anyway. I particularly liked the flower garden that they made – must try to find the camera. Big was being a bit stroppy – I think we’ve done too much and seen too many ppl this week. Home day tomorrow methinks. Small was not impressed by the introduction of another 17 month old child, and this one who was prepared to fight for the toys! Poor boy didn’t know where to put himself, but Kris says it made him say “no” so can’t be all bad 🙂

Poor T got rather left out of everything this aft – at nearly three Big didn’t want her tagging along (am really going to have to do something about this exclusivity thing she’s got going) and the smaller children weren’t really playing with each other let along anyone else. The arrival of a large plate of marmite toast seemed to cheer her up though. Never seen toast disappear so fast!

Kris and I managed to fit in a bit of a chat about home ed books and LEAs before they had to depart and we had to race off to ballet. Another happy lesson as far as I can tell, and Small really enjoyed racing round the changing room. And it was snowing on the way home, so Bit was really happy about that. And thanks for the tip Kirsty a loud rendition of Old McDonald had a dinosaur, did indeed keep him awake in the car. As a result, he’s already in bed, and I’m contemplating actually doing some work…

  1. Sleep does make such a difference doesn’t it!

  2. I enjoy co sleeping with Maddy, aside from the weight of her head and with Josie atm but Fran is too bony and Amelie is generally too noisy! Evictions r us!!!!!

  3. Glad you got some sleep, it does make all the difference. 🙂

  4. I would really rather not co-sleep too, and we don’t officially 🙂 Davies is a lovely child to have in bed with you, he simply snuggles and cuddles up (somtimes strokes a bit too) and goes to sleep, with Scarlett it’s less co-sleep and more co-wrestle, so I totally sympathise!
Otherwise glad we had good days today 🙂

  5. Small is a git. He is too friendly. His favourite sleeping position is on Jax’s head.

  6. I hate co-sleeping – I always vowed we wouldn’t but we’re still doing it FOUR years later.

  7. Co-sleeping with a grown man is difficult enough!

  8. Don’t beat about the bush Tim, say what you mean! lol Liberta you are *so* right although I think small person takes up more of the bed than other half does even though he is a lot bigger. Mind you she doesn’t snore………..
