Days like these

are thankfully few and far between.

I don’t think it would have made much difference what I had done today, it was just bad. Discovering that Tim had gone to a meeting with the carseats on the day that I had the key for the hall for our group meeting, did not improve matters.

Barbara came over with a spare carseat – must organise getting that back to you Barbara! – and Sarah headed for the hall to field any early arrivals. In the end she was the only early arrival and thankfully the rain held off until we were all inside.

Was the only break I got today tbh. Sundials are a wonderful activity, but a bit pointless when the sun takes up residence behind a cloud. Home again for tea, and Big’s behaviour deteriorated steadily, quite impressive considering the low it had been at before we went out. Ended up with her in bed without a bath/ story/ history or anything 🙁 and while I was dealing with her tantrum, Small did the usual in the bath! Aargh….sob.

So I came downstairs while Tim dealt with upstairs (but not the bath, I dealt with the bath 😉 ) and I cleaned. Anyone would think I was getting visitors, I even got down on hands and knees and brushed down the side of the washing machine.

I feel much better now.

  3. Sorry we missed the sundials – hadn’t even finished packing up by that point!
Will have to make them here, I think – they look great fun!

  4. Sundials sound brilliant! One to file away for our group sometime.
Hope tomorrow is much better on the behaviour front (hers, not yours 😉 )

  5. cleaning – it’s the new blogring craze and all because Joyce is on the loose and could drop in on any one of you 😉 Our house has never been in such a permanant state of tidiness!!

  6. Hm, think I’d need more than a couple of weeks notice to make this place shipshape and bristol fashion. Was quite satisfying though. 🙂

  7. Hope tomorrow is better and sunnier!!

  8. I’ve had Dh drive off with a needed car seat too. Very frustrating. After that I had one friend who was forever saying did you remember to take out the carseat before he went to work….

My DH’s trick is to go off to the train with my car keys in his pocket. I am stunned at people who clean rather than eat under stress – this is a habit I should acquire 🙂
    Hope today goes much better.

  10. well, my DH trick is to……. [don’t think I can say it again, but ommission rather than commission!]
Our house is struggling to remain tidy as I now am not doing any housework and Chris is whizzing about. Clean as well would be a bit much.

  11. C once went out with my car keys, and drove back from Oxford to give them to me 🙂 Bless 🙂 Still, today I think he has gone to work with the suncream …

  12. Indeed I have….I am not driving home for that though.
The drive back from Oxford was after 3.5 weeks in France…..must be something about going to France.
