Cleanest bath in the land.

Sorry 🙁

Which rather derailed my plans for the evening. Terrible drive to work today, nearly an hour to travel 12 miles on the M1, presaging a rather frustrating work day, but at least a reasonable drive home. I’d gone out at lunchtime to get stamps for Big to pursue her latest interest of entering competitions, and that’s what I’d intended to do with her. Instead Tim sat and helped, while I cleaned the bath. Again.

She wrote out the best part of two entries, for two competitions that she’d worked out the answers to herself yesterday. She must have spent the best part of three hours on that magazine yesterday – pouring over wordsearches, looking for answers to questions, doing a spot the picture. Small likes his as well, but hasn’t got quite that attention span 😉

Which makes me think actually – can we take a quick poll? Answers in the comment box please. For those of you’ve who’ve been privileged to see it, what age is the The Roly Mo Show aimed at? Only I would have assumed it was toddlers, but this magazine has got letters to write over, first words to read, competitions to enter by writing a word starting with a letter you’ve got to find and cut out…just all seemed a bit OTT. Although it would appear Small can count. 1, 2, 3, 1 it goes 😀

So that was our evening, by far the highlight of my day. Now must go and get organised for tomorrow – determined to get away in good time so as to be able to pick them up before they’ve done 10 hours in nursery 😉

  1. I would have said toddlers too, but I can’t say I’ve ever watched a whole episode!

  2. Fran and Maddy still seem to wail if i turn it off!
Josie was counting yesterday… blah, blah, blah, blah… here i come…. or gurgles to that effect. Very cute.
Is Small the offender in the bath? (Just stop bathing him!)

  3. Toddlers. Pea was doing all that stuff as a toddler though!

  4. Becca still likes the Roly Mo show.according to the blurb on the BBC mag website it’s a literacy mag aimed at 3 to 5 year olds.
How about a swim nappy for in the bath?

  5. Yeah Merry, that’s what I was thinking – a quick hose down would surely suffice. Wonder when he’ll grow out of it? 😉
What was Big pouring over her wordsearches? 😉

  6. Small is indeed the offender. He seems to do this every now and then, but when he does, he does it for several days running.
Alison :p Hate that kind of word, you know what I mean 😉
Katy, I’d consider a swim nappy, but considering he wears nappies all day, I kind of think that his rear end is a bit that could do with bathing iyswim.

  7. I’ve never understood this regular bathing. I used to bath Fran a lot, but then she did use weetabix as a hair treatment, maddy i sort of bathed and Amelie… well, who’d bath Amelie? I dread to think how often bath Josie; what can’t be done with a flannel doesn’t get done.
And yes, i know they look unkempt but hey… i’ve not got knitted sandals for them….

  8. Does Small like having a bath? Do you think he’d grasp being bathed in a baby bath (do you have one kicking around still?) as being ‘punishment’ for not being grown up enough for the big bath? Or would he not care? (Was going to ask if he’d give a shit about it but thought that might be slightly inappropriate) 😉

  9. I’ve never bathed any of mine every day LOL!
I’d do a stand in it for a minute job as rub soap him over and shower him down. Proper bath once a week.

  10. They like their bath, it’s part of our outchilling before bed. Dragging him out of it early and washing him over with a flannel again appears to get the message across that I’m not impressed with the whole routine, but I’m not sure to what extent he can stop it atm. I don’t do punishment as such – consequence is sufficient for this type of event I think.

  11. Not very relaxing to have to rescrub everything!

  12. we like doing baths here. not necess every day, but more than half

  13. My boys love to have a bath everyday, not for filth, though it often should be!But for fun and relaxation, they have a huge stash of imaginary games which are just for the bath!!
Mean while I sit on the loo seat and read……
