Celebrate the little achievements

because some days, they are all we have to show…

So today I have managed cross stitch with Big, despite her being full of cold, and rather sorry for herself. She stitched three small rose heads, her first time cross stitching, on proper fabric, with proper thread, using a pattern. It’s a good start.

I cooked toad in the hole. And got rid of some more of the accidentally purchased new potatoes. Sigh. Who is even selling salad potatoes at this time of year? Iceland in case you need any.

Processed two more black sacks. Ended up with one black sack of stuff I’m not sure what to do with yet, stuff put away, most of a sack for charity (that was half full when I started) and most of a sack of hand me downs (that was also half full when I started. And I already tried to hand them down once and ppl didn’t seem to want them. Hohum. May well end up at charity if I can’t track down the semi local clothing exchange place. Just annoys me to give so much good stuff away.)

Set up an email address to do with my forthcoming new project, and configured it through gmail. This will mean I can manage it from my phone wherever I am. The blog will be similarly configured. Hm, I think I spot a post I can write on it about all of that when it’s up 😉 Am following the problogger advice to have a bunch of posts ready to go before I launch, will also be looking for guest blogging opportunities. On vaguely techy stuff 🙂

I’ve mainly kept on top of the washing up, so at least the kitchen isn’t hugely trashed, hate walking in to a trashed kitchen in the morning.

Tagged some blogposts about braces so that they are easier to find after being told on twitter that they were useful. Nice to hear that things I’ve written are useful 🙂

Oh, and I won a disposable underwater camera in a twitter party tonight. I’d have liked the digital one on offer, or the grand prize (who wouldn’t?) but it will still come in handy at some point.

And I’m going to finish this post without listing out all the things I haven’t done. Tomorrow, as they say, is another day. I’ll start it with a todo list…

  1. Those salad potatoes are delicious if you par-boil them (skins on) then gently crush them with a fork (or whatever) until they just split open slightly. Then spritz with olive oil, sprinkle with sea salt and freshly cracked black pepper. Pop them into a med-hot oven until they start to turn golden and the edges crisp up a bit.
They go with pretty much anything =)

    1. That sounds like a great tip, thanks, I’ll give it a go 🙂

    2. Thanks, giving this a go tonight, will let you know how it goes!

  2. Passing on good clothes to charity is a wonderful thing to be able to do – how much rubbish must some people have to accept because they don’t have a choice. So what joy when some good stuff comes in. Feel good about it.
Re guest posts on your new blog – I guess I won’t be writing any if it’s vaguely techy 😉

  3. You have been very productive, well done. You seem to be feeling better. x
