Capturing garden colour, and maybe a bit from the streets.

Do you know what you get if you hand a three year old a digital camera?

Lots of blurry pictures. Nearly 300 in fact.

(And a slightly smudged camera. Maybe that’s just my three year old.)

If you’re lucky, you’ll also get some unique takes on the landscape around you. Perspectives that you miss, because you are too tall, too fast, too busy, too something else to see what your children see all around you, every day.

I love this in our garden. I love everything about it. The colours, the sunshine, the hidden, abandoned toys.

And apparently we do a lot of washing. There were lots of pictures of washing. This one is even in focus. Nappies. Nappies are a theme in our washing, as until a week ago, we had two children using them.

Fantastic yellow flowers. I have so enjoyed this flower bed all summer. Which was from a previous blog competition Winking smile

And it seems red is her least favourite colour. There were barely any red pictures. Or maybe that’s related to our garden? But here are some of our blackberries, before they are black.

I’d forgotten that she took her camera with her to Ickworth. And that she took pictures. With birds in them.

Oh, and a selfie. Because what set of pictures is finished without a selfie?

Wildlife. And a beetle.

I don’t know how you get this effect. Anyone?

And it’s nice to know that I feature Smile

But actually, this is a competition entry post. It’s for Kids Capture the Colour with Travel Supermarket, and there are themes. So here are our themed entry pictures.

*Edited* I’ve just had the rules explained to me. Apparently it’s one picture, per colour, per blog entry, not per child, so I’m trimming down the numbers. Which has been difficult. Making the final cut:

White. white linen, about to be hung on a washing line. Smallest’s coif, after Kentwell

Green. I think green must be her favourite colour, there were a lot of green pictures. But this one is in focus Winking smile

A left behind Blue sock.

As may have been noted before, I have more than one child. The pictures above are Smallest’s age, 3. These are Big’s age, 13.

She went for a walk, just in the streets around our house. And found all sorts of beauty about. Because it’s there, if you look.

I’m glad she got this Red. Because on our way back from the leisure centre today, there was a tree surgeon cutting it all down. Which was a bit sad. It’s so glorious.

Red-ivy

Yellow, the palest of pale yellows.

Yellow

As I said, this post is an entry into Kid’s capture the colour from Travelsupermarket. Fingers crossed, eh?
