Blog awards – the 'yes please I would like one' approach

I have blogged many times on my attitude to blog awards. I have said that I won’t ask for votes. That if people want to nominate me that’s lovely but I won’t seek it out.

Do you know what? Stuff that.

This year, this blog is 13. It’s never won an award, and has recently slid out of the top 100 ranking list, mainly due to neglect. (Sorry little blog. I will do better.) I would like to celebrate it hitting 13 with a slew of awards, and so yes, I’m here, cap in hand to say please nominate me.

There are two main sets of parent blogger awards going on at the moment. (Which is convenient, as this post will do for both 😉 ) They are the MADs from the tots100 network, and the BiBs from Britmums. I would appreciate nominations for either or both, and *if* begging actually gets me anywhere, I’ll be back asking for votes as well in a bit.

My photography is an important part of my life these days, and can be found mainly on instagram. The really pretty stuff is at liveotherwise and the day to day stuff (books! children! home ed!) is at notjustkidsstuff. Of course, I do feature photography here, and will try to do that more regularly from now on (whether I get anywhere in the blog award quest or not 😉 )

Beyond that craven plea, I’m happy to be nominated in any category that you feel suitable, but I’ll save you time by pointing out that this is not a new blog, there are no babies or pregnancies kicking about, and I *am* eligible for MADs schooldays – that’s age related, not actually down to writing about school. Which I could do, as I’ve one child there these days, but don’t, because that level of ranting just isn’t pretty for anyone to see. I think it would be fun if a home ed blog won a category labelled school days actually.

So there you have it. I would love to be award winning – please nominate me. (The badges are clickable, and will take you through to the sites in question. In both cases nomination is a one shot process, so you’ll want to work out which blogs you want to nominate before you start. Thank you!)

  1. Oh best of luck. I know some home Ed parents I’m sure would love to vote you to win.

      Here’s hoping.

  2. I followed your lead by posting the badge under the heading: I wouldn’t say no… I will probably follow it up with a blog post too. Of course I also have to nominate and I agree that it would be great if you won the best schooldays blog (if I didn’t win it of course). My best options are – schooldays or best writer. I’d say frugal as well but there are others more devoted to this niche.

See, while we live pretty frugally, it’s not really something I blog about. Just the way it is! I would love the nod for photography though.

      1. I can nominate you for photography as my other option for the photography nomination could have the family travel nomination instead.
