Birthday boy.

Tigerboy is two today.

I can’t quite believe it. The time has flown – it seems moments since I was sitting painfully right here in this chair, crying, thinking I still had two weeks of pregnancy left. (Hint, I didn’t).

In some ways he’s very much still a baby. The no speech makes him seem much younger than he is. When he’s happy he dances on the spot and laughs, wanting applause. He’s still wearing sleepsuits at night (stops little hands going places they shouldn’t 😉 ) and he’s so very cuddly and huggly.

But there are fragments of the boy he will be showing through. He loves his big brother.

brothers

And bubble wrap. He *really* loves bubble wrap. So Small got him some pull back cars, and packaged them in bubble wrap, making the wrapping into part of the present 🙂

Other than that, it’s been a pretty low key day. Small has been out at a home ed friends – I dropped him off this morning, taking 90 minutes to drive 15 miles :'( (It only took 18 minutes to get back, without any speeding!) so I think we’re going to do cake and things tomorrow. Wouldn’t want him to miss out, and let’s face it, Tigerboy doesn’t know.

birthday boy saying ball I’ve done things with him, of course. We went outside and played in the sun, blowing bubbles, and chalking on the patio. So nice to be able to get out!

And I printed out a batch of stuff from Twinkl – I’m reviewing at the moment. I did him an alphabet train, and cut out the cars so he could play with them. Sneaky way of practising his sounds as well, but you could have knocked me down with a feather when he just about managed to say ‘ball’. Yay!

So, all in all, it’s been a lovely day. And because I’d like to share the joy, I’ve dug out a bundle of baby stuff I’ve been given recently at various events, and I’m doing a giveaway.

Here’s what’s up for grabs.

birthday bundle giveaway

So that’s an organic cocoon towel from Little Green Sheep. A Skibz bandana bib – it’s camo. A Le bibble bottle bib and a Quack Quack Moo bib. That’s nearly £50 worth of baby goodness if you went out and bought it, and you could win it just by leaving a comment!

Yes indeed, easy comment entry. I just want to know what’s the baby product you couldn’t manage without? (If you don’t have a baby, give me your best guess!)

Additional optional entries (leave a separate comment for each entry or it won’t be counted.)

  1. I couldn’t be without my Breastfeeding pillow. Happy Birthday!

  2. I don’t actually need baby stuff, but do have a friend 😉 I couldn’t have done without muslins (eldest still has muslin comforters at 7, so they’ve done very well) and for peace of mind, the digital in-ear thermometer.
For eldest’s second birthday I was 6 months pregnant with youngest, so it didn’t really happen. We went away for a weekend break too, so we just pretended her birthday was on a different day that year – naughty parents 😉 I can’t even remember youngest’s 2nd birthday, I think it was at one of my low points with depression though. Nope, can’t bring it to mind at all. How odd!
Happy Birthday, Tigerboy! Bubble wrap is the best present 🙂 xx

Happy birthday, Tigerboy! I’m guessing that a safe place for baby containment is good – be it a basket, bouncy chair, swing or sling!

How I Can Help

After 20+ years of home educating my four children (two now adults), I’ve gathered a wealth of experience that I’m passionate about sharing. Beyond blogging and guest writing, I offer several services designed to support families on their home education journey.

Resources to Support Your Home Ed Journey

I’ve put together a collection of resources that I’ve genuinely found useful over the years—things that have actually made a difference in our home education. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to freshen things up, there’s something here to help. These are the tools, guides, and materials I’d recommend to a friend, because they work.
