Beginning of summer?

Hope it wasn’t the end of it too!

Glorious weather this week. Not during monday evening, although it was warm. Small and I had an active day – he had a drs appt (his ears are now fine) in the afternoon, and then I walked him to Beavers while Big was out at her fun swim session. I walked home via the coop and got rained on, so was pleased I’d taken his kagoule, given that they were going to the allotments. He was pleased too 🙂

Found out on Tues evening that Big had aquitted herself very well on Monday – the group of girls that she goes with had been picking on one of their number, and she told them all she didn’t think it was right, told the parent that had taken them all, and told us when she got back. The parent concerned was v impressed with her – Tim and I were proud too 🙂

Made Small dissolve at swimming lessons though, which was not the intended result. 🙁 Atm his lesson is at 4.30. During the summer holidays, that will change to 9 am. Now, I know that 9 am isn’t really all the early, but Small is so not a morning person. I thought I could give him a pep talk pointing out that if he managed to get moved up we could change his time and it wouldn’t be so early during the summer holidays. Instead all he heard was the morning bit, and so we had tears.

Think Big had a good lesson – I was chatting in the changing room and cafe so didn’t see 😳 Then home, playing our new walking version of Kim’s game, where I ask them questions they can answer by observation, in an attempt to get them to be more aware of the world around them. It’s worth a try anyway!

Weds was music, and a glorious day so we spent the afternoon in the park. Kids had gone prepared in the offchance that the water feature was on, and even though it said on the signs May to September, someone had obviously noticed the sun and it was on. They were thrilled and played in it for hours even though most of the other kids couldn’t. We adults had chance to chat, which was lovely and soa showed off her new independent sitting skills 😯 both at music and at the park.

Thursday, only yesterday so why can’t I remember it? Oh yes, there was baby yoga. Which was quite fun but rather more energetic than I’d been expecting. Still, this is probably good as my post baby weight loss has presently stalled again at 11 stone. Annoying, but I’m trying not to let it get to me, and I’m just walking as much as I can.

And today? Have signally failed to get anything done. So gonna go to bed and hope for an early start.
