Been letting the side down

and it really isn’t on.

In my defence, yesterday I arrived home from work at 6pm, having dozed my way down the M1 with car windows open and stereo blaring, using the rumble strip as an additional anti snooze measure, and fell into bed for a quick nap before story time. Got up at 8.45 this morning, so wasn’t going to fit much blogging in there.

And today I have been trying to be child oriented or led or something. Got washing on this morning, two loads, and hung out. And then we went off to the library, and spent the best part of an hour choosing books.

Shopping after that, and Small refused point blank to get in the trolley, I blame that bloke 😉 Having said that, it was lovely actually, as I had to work quite hard to keep both of them involved and with me, and so we had a very nice trip round Lidl. Even snaffled the last electronics kit, theoretically for nephew’s chrimble pressie, though actually I’ve planned for it to be unwrapped a wee bit closer to home 🙂

Home for a rather late lunch, and then Sarah came round for some adult catching up time and a cuppa, which was pleasant. And somehow it was tea time, bath time and bed time. We’d managed to pick up the next Ballet Diary from the library, but then it had got tidied downstairs, so I got to read a bit more of Thursday’s children, while Small bopped around the floor. Left them to it for the actual falling asleep bit, and now he’s in bed with her again, and I must go to find mine.

Night all.

  1. nice blog. we were tempted by that and the microscope at lidl, but have reluctantly left them in the store as paycheck instantly disappeared on placing in bank! SB a bit younger, so hoping they repeat this time next year!

  6. Nah, it’s OK, I didn’t think that any of you thought that I was, but I think that I am, and I’m letting myself down too, ‘cos this is a period I’m going to want to be able to look back on, and I haven’t been writing it down at all.
    Hugs all round!
