BBC NEWS:Education:Kelly to promise £27m free books

For children aged one to two, there will be a Bookstart Plus pack, with a satchel-style bag, two books, a scribble pad and crayons, a booklist for toddlers and information about local libraries.

I am obviously living on a different timeline – could have sworn we picked up one of these last week….

  1. Jax, I ws wondering about that when you posted about it – I’m sure we don’t get that here (and my friendly librarian who came to our group is the Bookstart Coordinator at our library, I thought he would have told me – hmm, I will ask next time we go in!) – perhaps you are a pilot scheme? They have been doing the baby one for ages though, so perhaps they are trying to make it sound better than it is … 😉
Oh yeah look, on the Bookstart site they are still only saying you can get the baby bag – http://www.bookstart.co.uk/parents/index.html
Got your batteries and a charger btw 🙂

  2. Although their latest Book of the Month was from January, so they may not be up-to-date with their plans, rofl!

  3. I think when I looked at the site I was a bit surprised I couldn’t find a link to the bag we’d got, perhaps we are a pilot scheme at that. Bit surprised if we are, as we’re not a Surestart area and they usually get all the goodies.
Ooh, good on the batteries and charger – that’s great!
