Bargainicious 🙂

Recently Small developed an interest in King Arthur. He spent lots of time writing a play of his reimagined version. I’d been wondering which books to start him on, and someone recommended Rosemary Sutcliffe. So imagine my joy at spotting these goodies in one of our charity shops! All three together cost me £1.08. Brilliant.

I went through a phase in my teens when I was in love with all things Arthurian. Spent many happy times at Tintagel imagining Merlin and Arthur…

  6. Bargain books Can’t beat charity shops and Amazon for a great book bargain. I bet your son is really pleased with his haul. The author’s name is pretty Scary Rosemary Sutcliffe for some reason reminds me of Rosemary West and Peter Sutcliffe. Sorry.

  8. I’ve just finished the trilogy that the lantern bearers is part of – apparently its been made into a film recently.

  9. I remember having to read The Eagle of the Ninth in first year of secondary school. I struggled through the first three chapters but by the end I was hooked. I’ve liked Rosemary Sutcliffe ever since.

  10. Charity shops are great for children’s books, aren’t they? My 11 yo son has picked up all sorts of really good reads over the years.
