Another day, another unit

So now I know about classes, interfaces, methods and garbage collection. Theoretically speaking anyway. I’m finding it very hard going, this learning lark – I’m used to learning languages either in a classroom, in which case I go much faster than everyone around me, or on the job as it were, in which case….yes, you know.

But sitting at home with noone to compare with, it feels impossibly slow. Wonder if that’s part of what is going on in Big’s mind? Hm.

Don’t seem to have done much of anything educationally with her over the weekend, and her behaviour showed it today. Where did I get this miniature teenager from? The constant attitude is wearing to say the least.

So tomorrow, when she asks “What have you got planned for me today?”, I’m going to have a list. 😉 (Is that orgo planning? Is there such a thing as orgo planning in self defence???)

I thought we’d do Exeter maths – so close to the pages with actual sums now!

Reading – we’ve not done any of her new book for several days, so I’m determined to do a couple of pages. She can do some more Studydog as well if she doesn’t get computer privileges withdrawn for behavioural problems 🙁

Knitting – she can do some knitting while I do some more crocheting. I’m getting so behind most of the other ppl in this swap, and I’ve got to add in the time it’s going to take to get my stuff to them.

If it’s a semi decent day, we’ll get some time outside – I want to do some more digging, desperately trying to excavate my vegetable patch.

Read alouds – I got her a couple of nice books from the library that I want to read. One is the the Winter King and the Summer Queen, which should lead to some discussion about myths and stories I hope.

I’d like to do some art with them tomorrow – got a couple of rather sorry looking potatoes that I thought we could do some printing with. We do rather suffer from the preparation taking longer than the activity here – took ages to get them set up for painting the other day, and they’d both lost interest before I’d finished the washing up that I set to when I got them started! Would prefer to do that outside though, as Small tends not to be overly precise in what he is doing with messy stuff 😉

Might finish off the day with a walk to the post office to post some of these squares, and then we’re going to have pasta bake for tea, so she can help make that.

There we go, does that sound planned enough?

All of this of course assumes that I don’t fall over at lunch time like I did today, and need a couple of hours sleep just to make it through the rest of the day! Hohum.

G’night all.
