another certificate

Well, her first actually, as we don’t have the ballet one yet.

The swimming teacher stretched several points and gave Big a level one pass. She should have been able to do 8 of the things on the list, by my reckoning she could actually do three. And she wouldn’t even try them today. Sigh. Still, she says she really enjoyed it, and I’ve signed her up for a weekly course starting in September, so maybe we’ve got the momentum going now.

It’s been a hectic week what with being out of the house by 9.15 every morning – yes I know I used to make it to work for 8 o’clock (well, usually about 8.20 if we’re honest), but I used to eat breakfast at my desk, Big got breakfast at nursery and there wasn’t a Small to worry about, so things are a bit different now. Today I actually managed to tick off a few items on my to do list as well, so that cheered me up too. Then Barbara came around late afternoon and I put up a paddling pool and we chilled while the children played. It was good seeing Small play with B – I was impressed to see them building towers together, and sharing (pretty much 😉 ) the music blocks. Small was fascinated by R as well, probably the smallest baby he’s seen.

Big and E get on well most of the time, with only minor scuffles, so it was a good afternoon. Very continuum concept as well, with me and Barbara in the kitchen, using up Barbara’s organic veg making (an extremely yummy) vegetable crumble. And I really wished I’d sorted the camera out to take a piccie of the four children sitting at the table eating crumble!

They all shared a bath too, and Barbara got a piccie of that, before she rounded up her herd and we chased Big into bed. She was ever so tired (it was ever so late!) and I’m hoping she might have a lie-in in the morning.

I’m off to bed myself now. Night all.
