The last question of tonight, from both children, was exactly the same as last night. What will we do tomorrow?

But first, what did we do today?

Well, I had a lazy morning feeling sorry for myself. I’m having a lot of problems with my hip atm, not quite sure whether it’s a reaction to doing so little after doing so much, or whether I’ve tweaked it a little, or whether it’s just an age thing 😉 Tim massaged it for a while which helped a lot, on top of the ibuprofen I’d taken as well. I’ve got a doctor’s appt set up for Weds to see if there’s anything I should or shouldn’t be doing with it in terms of exercise, although I’m not holding out a lot of hope for much information.

In the afternoon, there was more sitting around. I’m starting to write up some Montessori articles as well as other stuff about home or just education generally that interests me. Not quite sure yet what to do with all this material in the way of organisation so that it’s at least navigable, so it isn’t linked from anywhere yet.

Children mainly amused themselves. They appeared to have decided that because it’s the weekend, they’d watch lots of TV, which was a bit weird, given I’d said to Tim just the night before that I didn’t think they’d had it on all week. But there you go. In the afternoon they got a bit crafty, and Big did her Paint Your Own Statue – The Wind in the Willows – Ratty.

A bit later on Small decided to get in on the act with his paint your own Sally (from cars) seed kit. I’ve no idea why this is a seed kit, it seems utterly bizarre to me to grow cress out of the top of a car, but there you go. And when we got into it, the paints were pretty much dried up, so although he persevered for a while, he wasn’t really getting anywhere and I had to take over. It looked quite rough even when I’d done it, so we decided that we’d call that a base coat and find some better paints and redo it tomorrow. (Which is now actually today, as I didn’t finish this post last night, and all the tenses are making my head spin. Where’s my cup of tea?)

And then the children went to bed (well, after we fed them) and I did some more writing, we watched some tv and Tim rubbed my leg some more.

It was rather a disturbed night as Big had bad dreams (too much Doctor Who she thinks 🙄 ) and that may have influenced the very late morning today. (That’s today Sunday as opposed to tonight Saturday which was where this post started. Confused yet? I am.)

  1. The painting looks great! Hope you got your cup of tea you certainly deserved it.

  2. Ernest’s been having lots of bad dreams lately – don’t know why, he hasn’t been watching or reading anything scary.
Hip thing sounds a bit miserable 🙁 Hope you get some relief soon.

  3. I think you need to change your tagline to “What are we doing tomorrow”.

  4. grump about poor paint in kits. one that i gave my niece for xmas turned out to have dry paint – grump grump

  5. We had a few of those paint kits for christmas too, think we got everyone else share of water though, ours were incredibly runny, everything looks as if it has had a white wash!!!! Children were not too bothered though 😉
