It’s quarter past seven and Small is in bed asleep – unheard of! Big is upstairs with Tim having her bedtime story, and I am savouring the silence…
Let’s see, we didn’t do everything I’d hoped for, but we did a fair bit. Big did some more of her workbook, filled in a form to get a fun book from the RSPB (see post below), dictated a reply to an email and helped with cooking. We also played I spy (very briefly) and walked round to the post office to post most of my postcards (I ran out, must have miscalculated somewhere along the line 🙁 ) and Small walked back. I like the Ergo, and I’m getting used to putting him in on my own, so that is proving a big success. It means he is either being carried or walking, and he seems happy with that as well.
They played in the garden a lot as well, and I’ve caught Big looking at books several times when she thinks I’m not paying attention 😉 – I’m hopeful that the reading thing is catching on.
I finished the washing up (although you can’t tell as I’ve cooked again since then, this home cooking lark is a bit of a pain as far as the kitchen goes) and there are two loads of washing drying very slowly on the line (and they can stay there, the forecast is good so hopefully they’ll dry before dark tomorrow). Haven’t done any paperwork, but at least I’ve got a nice long evening ahead of me to try to get some work done, although quite frankly, the temptation to put my head down next to Small and go to sleep was almost overpowering…
Oh, and I’ve solved the mystery of how Small bumped and grazed his head. The scab had come off last night, so he had a nice new pink bit of forehead. On his way up the steps he somehow contrived to trip and land right on it and graze and bump it all over again. He didn’t make any fuss though, so it can’t have hurt as much as it looks like it should have done.
