And so it goes on.

Small passed out in the middle of the afternoon today. That isn’t a good sign – he felt kind of warm too. He woke up and had some (not made by nestle, fake) shreddies, then I bathed him and got him ready for bed. He had his feed and then was sick all over both of us. Lovely. So the washer is on, he’s in bed on a towel, and I’m going to head up there very soon as I’d really rather get sleep while I can.

Big has not had a brilliant day. After I blogged last night I remembered that I’d promised to make her another phonic twist game – took me over an hour as I was so brain dead I somehow managed to mix it up so that the tick came up too soon. (No, I didn’t understand either). So when I gave her the game this morning, it would have been nice if she’d looked at it – but no. Eventually after lunch she sat down with it, and did the standard song and dance about not being able to read. She knows every letter-sound on there – I carefully chose words that sound the way they look, the pictures were pretty straightforward, but no. So much more fun to mess about with it. Grr…. once again, be really happy to drop it, but felt like I ought to follow her interest, but it seems her interest is in using the game to push my buttons rather than anything else.

Ballet was a wash out too. Heartless mummy asked whether she’d checked her bag and was assured that she had, so when we got there and there was only one sock, I was not understanding. She refused, loudly and dramatically, to go in without socks, or with her outdoor tights on (which were pink, albeit a bit brighter than the ballet ones!) and I wasn’t about to fix the problem with a credit card (don’t think that is a good example, especially when I really *don’t* know where the money would come from to pay the bill!) so she chose to leave. Shame as she won’t get there again til the end of the month now 🙁

On the upside I’ve been to-ing and fro-ing with an agency guy about another job, but this evening I’ve just discovered it may be one that the other agency guy mentioned when we very first spoke some weeks ago. In which case if they have both submitted my cv the company concerned is going to be a bit confused, as it’s undergone a serious rewrite since the first guy had it. The content is basically the same, unsurprisingly, but the presentation is markedly different. Hohum. So now I’m worried about that, because worrying is a hobby, and you aren’t supposed to submit from two agencies – although if the agencies were a bit more up front and *told* you what job they were talking about in the first place, the problem wouldn’t come up. Bugger.

Definitely time for an early night – here’s hoping that everyone feels better tomorrow, both here and out there with you all.

  1. who says you arent “supposed” to submit from two agencies? is that your first agency who having done some (minimal) work for you, doesnt want you getting a job through another agency so they lose the commission?
if a company sees your cv twice then isnt it going to think that you are very keen and trying all angles? and a changed CV? perhaps just that you are listening to comments and ammending appropriately?
i cant see this as anything but good. so good luck for the other job, i just hope the rejection from one dept hasnt put you off the company!

  3. You are soooo not in bed, Jax 😉 I see you 😛

  4. Have just come back down (again) from settling small unhappy boy (again) 🙁

  5. Well, the way I look at it, they’ll see you, or they’ll see your doppelganger. (sp!!). I wouldn’t fret about the two agencies thing. I don’t know ANYONE who doesn’t register with loads of agencies when they are job hunting. And its not as if the CV’s have different content. You’ll be able to talk your way out if you need to. Don’t worry (at least not about that!). Hope small person is better tomorrow.

  6. ah, poor sicky boy. Hope he’s better soon. Aly is now living on those rehydration sachets.

  7. Jax, what DH does is ask for the companies reference number. That way he doesn’t compromise the agent by finding out who it is with the job but if another agency rings with a similar sounding job he can say “I’ve already been put foward for x so is it the same” which seems to help as the company will tend to give out the same job reference to all agencies. Fingers crossed for you anyway and glad Small is asleep, B has just broken into K’s painting set and is desperately trying to convince me “its morning time” and hence time to paint!

Aww (((Jax)))That did make me smile! (With a lot of sympathy)
Hope Small is feeling better today?

  9. Hope you are feeling better this morning. Are you escaping for the nappaccino? I keep thinking I have far too much to do this week (what? Melrose is WHEN? Haven’t had time to even start thinking about that one yet) but I *really* need to get out and have a cuppa with some friends and I think you do too 😉

  10. Hope Small is better this morning too. Sending hugs …
