And now for something less aggressive

We haven’t had the best of days here, but it’s been pretty much my fault. I’m not feeling overly well – head blocked and stuffy, hacky cough, sore throat. Gotta love these communal bug sharing holidays 😉

So the children have thrived on a recipe of neglect and convenience food (lots of bananas! Small even said banana this morning) with an unhealthy leavening of Tiny Pop. I like Madeline and Corduroy – Babar is passable, but the pop tunes in between are disturbing at best and utterly irritating at worst. Yeuch.

They did play with the IQ cubes for a bit – can I call that maths? And there was lots of drawing, huge amounts of imaginative play, and Small loves his sister. He wants to be close to her all the time. At least, I assume that’s why he keeps sitting on her. Oh, and I almost forgot the jigsaws. Before I came down this morning, Big had found a box of Disney Princess jigsaws I got her last Christmas, and done all but about 5 pieces of the first one. Given that we only had 4 of the 49 pieces left to fit in (wonder where that went, much more likely to stress me out than a missing ball bearing) I thought she’d done rather well. She demanded I help her with the next one and went all helpless on me, so that didn’t go nearly as well.

Tim went to the hospital this morning, and has been referred for surgery. 🙁

Then this afternoon, I got a call from the agency that I dealt with via phone while I was in Melrose. Upshot – needed to resubmit screening document, so that must have taken me the best part of an hour. Wasn’t feeling particularly creative, so shouldn’t imagine I’ll get much further with that job app. Couple of other calls this aft as well, so more time not talking to small ppl, couple of quick work crises, and suddenly it was tea time. In between times been working on a thumbnailer for OSCommerce – only spent 24 hours on it, elapsed time, and does it work? Does it…. hence the previous somewhat irritated post.

On the upside, did manage to finish another crochet square. Only 48 to go now.

And this blog was interrupted by the thunder of Small feet, so I’d better hasten on up there. I meant to be in bed by midnight 🙁

  1. midnight today (as it’s now weds by my clock!) or yesterday?

  2. Ah well, you beat me to bed. Or at least, to blogging!
Sounds like a busy day anyway, the kids sound like they did ok 🙂
Gulp to the surgery – but if it will help, I hope it can happen soon.

  3. Still having a bit of trouble catching up with everyone (hense why I’m still up at this hour) but I must have missed something with Tim. ((all of you)) Any ideas how long he will have to wait? Hopefully the upshot is that something is actually going to improve, eventually, though? (Trying to be positive, here.)

  4. are the Ovaltinies late night boys and girls….

  5. ditto to Alison’s comment – what exactly are they planning to do to Tim?

  6. I hope the surgery does help Tim Jax.

  7. echoing what everyone else said. Oh and a sighed wish that Sheffield and Sussex were somehow closer…
