An eventful drive home.

Yet another of those days at work. I’m not sure there are any other kinds of day in a support department though.

On the way home, someone tried to run into us at a junction, then calmly swerved between the car that had emergency stopped to let him out and my car, to accelerate off down the motorway. I was annoyed enough to blast my horn and pull out behind him flashing my lights. 🙁

Just as I’d calmed down after that, Big said “Mummy, have you got over being sick from when your baby died?”

“Yes.”

“Are you going to try again?”

“Probably.”

“When?”

“Well, this isn’t one of those things that you can just have happen to order….”

“Yes, but when are you going to have sex?”

“!!”

She didn’t seem very impressed when I told her that was private, and I wouldn’t be letting her know 😉

Nearly home, and suddenly the cars ahead of us had hazard lights on. Ahead of that was a moving red flashing light – as if there were some kind of rolling roadblock in place. We followed that for a while, then suddenly it had disappeared and our traffic was slowly accelerating. As we passed a sliproad, the red lights were to our left, and automatically I glanced across.

What I thought I saw was a man on the floor with a policeman either bending over him or perhaps even kneeling on him. It was a split second glance.

Big, who was not driving and therefore didn’t have to look back at the road immediately, may have seen more. She thinks she saw a man who was killed (in her own words) and she’s afraid of having bad dreams tonight 🙁

Puts things in perspective, doesn’t it?

  4. oh, and nearly half way on the beads, fantastic

  5. yuck to motorway incident but if it helps they normally screen off anything nasty so he was probably a criminally bad driver being pinned down.
and Big’s questions made me really giggle, in fact it was far too like conversations we have in our house (“daddy, you need to go to bed at the same time as mummy so I can have a baby brother or sister”… “daddy! you aren’t out this morning, does that mean you had time to try and make a baby this morning!!!”…) sigh

  6. Lol @ big’s question. I laughed so much. Read it out to Romy (also 7) and she couldn’t think what was so funny 🙂
We saw a man on his hands and knees at the side of the road the other week in the dark. Romy (and we) were really freaked out. When we went back he was staggering drunk along the road. We had thought he’d been hit by a car or something.
    Hazel. xxx

  7. That was a funny conversation 😆 And I’m relieved to hear you’re recovering well.
So when ARE you gonna have sex then? *ducking* 😉

  8. Hugs for Big.
It was a very good question though 🙂

  9. Not soon enough, Gill. 🙂

  10. LOL! we’ll look forward to that blog post then 😉

  11. We’ll put it on UTube. 😐
