Aargh…..

Beware, geek rant following:

Now I know why the contribution I’ve been working on doesn’t work – all the files are in the wrong place.

I *HATE* open source software! I used to think I worked with muppets at work, but at least there were testing procedures, and ppl’s work was reviewed and checked, no such luck out in the real world…

I’ve just realised that in some places this may mean that I’ve been editing the wrong file, just as well I believe in backups really…and in keeping notes of what I do…and in testing what I’ve done….and in fact just as well I’m working on a clone site not a live one….

  1. I’m sure I would agree with you…..I felt really sorry for the guy running that science site – there was so much wrong with it, it clrealy hadn’t been QA-d properly before it went live. And he knew nothing about the technical side, so he was really at their mercy.
