A punk rocker with flowers in her hair?

She’s growing up so fast. Today we bought her a guitar for our musical charity challenge.

The people in west end music were really helpful, and threw in a carry bag and DVD for free. This was after giving us lots of time to browse, then playing the short list for us so we could choose. This is a Falcon in case you’re wondering, with a smaller body, but still steel strings.

There are two boards that do rock/pop guitar grades, and both Rockschool and Trinity Rock responded on twitter to let us know that you can use acoustic up to and including grade two. So we’re no nearer choosing a board at this point, it will probably depend on exam availability.

As a reminder, the goal is to reach grade one, raising money and awareness for a couple of charities along the way. I’m still considering an instrument though I’m beginning to think that the treble recorder I bought a couple of years ago and never played could do with an outing. Any further suggestions?

  1. The treble recorder has a lovely deep sound. I’d go for that – especially as you already have one. Good luck!

    1. The already having one is a large part of the attraction I do admit

  2. She is gorgeous. What a great instrument to learn x
