A friend filled day.

Today we drove lots. We drove over two hours to a party – but I don’t think we drove the furthest. We met up with home educating friends from all over the country – Yorkshire, Cambridgeshire, Sussex, Reading. Kids played, parents chatted, there was an Angry Birds cake.

Then we went back to one family’s house for further chatting and playing. I hadn’t realised quite so many ppl were going back there, so my plan of a quick cuppa and off again fell through when I realised that Big was getting to spend time with a friend she hadn’t seen for absolutely ages. In the end we were there a good couple of hours and yes, there was much playing, chatting, and some imbibing of tea 🙂

But we did have an errand to do on the way home – stuff to drop off with a friend who is expecting a baby a couple of weeks before I am. Somewhere along the way the last couple of years I seem to have gathered rather more baby stuff than I need, so it was good to pass it along to someone else who will make good use of it too. And we ended up stopping for beans on toast instead of my plan of finding the nearest ‘Donalds, so that made it a really lovely evening too.

Very late home, but Smallest is just having her (multiple) Mike the Knight fix while I drink a cuppa then hopefully everyone will have a bit of a lie in before I start running around tomorrow trying to catch up with today.

  1. I think we managed to not exchange a single word – but thank you for coming to Josie’s and BB’s party 🙂

    1. I was really struggling yesterday – I’ve got some odd head thing going on where everything seems somehow remote and at the same time uncomfortably loud, so I wasn’t hugely talkative, sorry. Hope Josie enjoyed her present, which I realised didn’t have a tag on it, but was wrapped in gold paper… 🙂

  2. Sounds like a great day!
