I had so many good intentions today. Well, at least I got the car serviced 🙂
Let’s see. I wanted to clear out bits of the dining room – Tim managed to hoover in there at least. I pulled a couple of bits out and I have a big pile of stuff to drop off at a charity shop. That’s progress of a sort I suppose, but not quite what I had in mind.
Budgeting, didn’t get very far. Had one of those conversations with Sky: are you sure we can’t interest you in this cheaper package? No, I want to cancel it. But we have so many different channels, I can do you it for £15 a month. No, I’m happy with what I’ve got free thank you. And so on, til he gave up and went away 🙂
Pondered on phones for a while – no idea how anybody goes around changing them every year. I know what I like – the phone I’ve got. But they aren’t producing them any more 🙁 Goodness knows why – just about everyone I know that has one adores it. Anyway, I didn’t get anywhere with choosing a new one, but I did spend a whole load of time viewing phone and tariff websites.
Big got up this morning and got her own breakfast in a hurry so that she could sit down and do some more handwriting 🙂 After that she got up from the chair and said “can I do my reading now?”
Wow.
She realised what she’d said and smiled at me, then went off and read.
Bit later on, we got a package. It turned out to be our hsshoeboxswap package, and was filled with really thoughtful stuff. So we spent large portions of the day finishing off all the bits I’ve been dragging to get done, and she did yet more writing. Good idea that pen!
Small did his usual ‘how many episodes of numberjacks can I fit into a day’ trick, as well as computer time and duplo. He also helped with some bits for the packages which was nice 🙂
All in all, I’m surprised at how much we fit into these occasional days. The only bit that appears to have dropped by the wayside this weekend is her recorder practise, but I’m sure that will pick up again. Oh, and a lovely finish to the day – somehow we managed to have them through tea by 6, so Big requested a game of chess with Tim and Small wanted to play Snap with me. He’s never asked to play a game with me before – I really enjoyed it.
Another good day. And I only logged into work for about 20 minutes. 🙂
Oh, and I nearly forgot. Give the current discussion (or lack thereof) about Trident in the media, I was quite interested when a link to this Compass survey turned up in my inbox. Feel free to go and share your thoughts, or not, as you like.
