2015 Snippets

{remembering} bits of a year. There have been some big changes.

{Big} joined cadets, reenacted 1920s without us, and started school. There were probably some other bits, but those stand out. She’s raced through the qualifications at cadets, mainly because she has only missed a couple of training nights since she started – one because of the being away at Kentwell doing the 1920s. She was chosen to be one of the two standard bearers on Remembrance day, and acquitted herself well on a windy sea front. School has been a shock to all our systems, but she’s holding her own, and even I think enjoying it in parts.

{Small} discovered the role he enjoys at Kentwell – being a page. As a result discovered he likes mushrooms and has taken up fencing. He also joined the computer club, very much enjoyed a 12 hour gaming marathon, and rounded off the year by getting the WiiU he and Smallest have been saving up for.

{Smallest} asserting herself more and more each day, she’s creative, charming, determined and loving. I think this year will see some enormous changes for her, and I’m looking forward to the ride.

{Tigerboy} suddenly a boy and not a toddler any more. Loves drawing (on anything) building, particularly with lego and duplo and is the child most likely to surprise. (Get down from there!) Suspect he is going to challenge Smallest repeatedly – anything she can do, he wants to do too. Now. If not sooner.

{me} Barely reading, hardly writing, but drawing, creating and willing to make mistakes. All of those things are new. My word for the year, suggested by Creatively Paleo on instagram is Dare.

Here’s to a fabulous and challenging 2016.

  1. Gorgeous pics Jax. I always wondered where you did the reenactments. Kentwell looks beautiful (bit of a Tudor geek me). Hope you all have a great New Year!

  2. A lovely yearly update. It sounds there have been some massive steps taken for all of you. The kids are doing very well and it sounds like you are challenging yourself. I hope you are enjoying it.
