Things I love about netflix – the musical version.

Today is the anniversary of the first airing of Buffy Season 6 episode 7 the musical episode also known as Once More With Feeling. We started a tradition last year of watching it and singing along, and tonight we continued that tradition.

Handily, it’s all on Netflix ๐Ÿ™‚

I think that’s what I like most about Netflix, the range of material. From classics like Buffy, through new and exclusive episodes of Once upon a time (love that show) to programs for the little ones, and japanese stuff that Small enjoys there is something for everyone. Big is particularly attached to Life Interrupted at the moment (kind of reminds me of Party of Five and Dawson’s Creek, I’m not entirely sure that’s a good thing) which at least makes a change from House.

They’ve launched a new thing this week, 5 minute episodes of Dinotrux favourites, designed to assist parents in the handling of bedtime.

Just one more episode? Oh go on then, given they’re only 5 minutes long…

Smallest’s best bedtime evasion recently was “But Mummy, I need you to teach me to read”. You’ve got to admire her style, pulling at all those home educator urges. It didn’t work though, she still got sent to bed ๐Ÿ™‚

So, what excuses have your little darlings trotted out? Any of these familiar?

Generally speaking, I try to avoid screens after dinner time for the younger ones. (I know I should avoid them for me too, but I’d never get any chance to watch my shows if I did that!) It does happen every once in a while though, generally when I’ve got to go out again to collect a bigger one. I’ll check out Dinotrux for those moments, as it’s not a good thing to say bedtime and discover they are in the middle of something half an hour long.

What do your little ones try to delay bedtime?

  1. Mine aren’t too bad at going to bed to be honest as they enjoy reading and being read to. It’s how early they get up. Oh I love the Buffy musical episode xx
